I heard a lot of good benefits about breastfeeding, so as a first time mom back then, I thought its natural to take that route. As soon my son came out, the nurse is telling me to collect milk from my breast. But HOW??? I thought I read all the books already but there I was totally blank on what to do. He was in NICU for sometime so they gave him formula already. I visited him in NICU and try to skin to skin and breastfeed, again I think m failing. There so lil drops, my vision of breastfeeding is not like this.
If you are reading this as first time mom, please arrange an early session with lactation expert and let them guide you on what to expect. It will be a long post if I write it all here, but one thing is for sure, if you are determined to do it, go for it, its not easy BUT so rewarding (for me).
Every mom has their story. Listen to them then do what you have to do on your own. Your still in charge on which route to take.
